If you’ve been seeing some of my recent tweets, I recently took my end of year exams and it’s two weeks ’till summer! Studying was probably the main reason why I took so long to upload new posts on my blog. You would always find me studying- either reading, writing or doodling on my iPad. Even during our breaks in style lab I was on my laptop reviewing! I’m relieved that exams are over and if you ask me, I feel like we are on break already.I wasn’t able to review all alone though, I had my friends, my study group and my tutors to help me. You see we all have our strengths, one is good at science, the other at math and another at mandarin. I am quite poor with all of those three subjects so I would always ask my friends to help me out and share their revision notes. It’s great how our teachers gave us lots of revision material (well most of them!).
Recently I found it easier to study when listening to music. However I know some people get distracted, but that is not the case with me. I even have a playlist called ‘eoy exam songs’. On my iPad, my friend Julia introduced me to an app called ‘paper’ and it helped me so much. I would normally just draw and write down what I had to memorize. It helped me especially for music when I had to learn all those notes. By the way, aren’t my drawings amazing! 😉
It was just this year when I started making flashcards. It all started when the school gave us a few index cards and said we could use it for revision. I mainly used them for mandarin when I had to memorize all the vocabulary. If you were wondering how, I wrote the Chinese characters in the front, and the pin-yin and meaning at the back to help me remember. Then I would leave them in my pencil case.
And lastly, something to snack on! I was able to finish one box of these almonds and the picture above are actually my parents one. My dad said I could have them 🙂 You see I don’t really eat ‘brain food’ like veggies or fish and I would always go with any sort of chocolate- the unhealthy stuff.
I think that I worked hard for these tests and hopefully, it will show in my exam results. I got back a few a my test results today and I’m pretty pleased with them :). After exams were over I saw so much tweets saying how happy everyone was that we survived. On independence day, everyone was out! Either malling, hanging out with friends and in my case, went to alabang for a photoshoot! I’ll write about it soon 🙂 Congratulations to all those who reviewed hard, stayed up late and not text or go on any social media network for hours, just two more weeks and we’re out!
