You may think the fashion world is all glamorous and easy, IT’S NOT! There is a lot of hard work and dedication you have to put into just one shoot or runway collection. If there’s one thing to say about modeling, it sure is tiring!
There are a lot of people involved in a shoot, like: a photographer, a stylist, a makeup artist, a model, and of course some assistants. Looking at it in my eyes, their jobs are different from a “normal” one. Again, they work as hard as ever but they have a lot of fun doing their jobs.
Hair and Make-up artist: Angelu Dominguez
I don’t know much about hair and make-up, but its interesting to see that after you touch up that nose or eyebrows of yours, you look like a different person. For me it’s 6 years older, I’m now 18!
Stylist: Jeff Galang
The stylist has a very important job. With the fast changing trends of the fashion industry it is not wise to buy all the clothes, shoes, bags and accessories for just one photo shoot. A stylist has to borrow and return clothes from different stores/brands and somehow find a way to put them together to create a look. A lot can change with a simple jacket or accessory.
Photographer: Ronan Capili
Learning about lights and lenses seems quite tricky. There is a lot of tweeking to do to find the perfect angle. The model has to be prepared as well, studying poses and pegs that he or she will try to project in a shoot is important. Until the photographer gets THE SHOT, the model has go on and on.
And one last thing!
A studio! What I learned from my coach (the photographer) that if in a studio with plain backdrops you can go all out with fashion, there’s no limit. But when at a certain location, that’s where you should keep it simple.
Fat Cat Studio
It’s such an unforgettable experience to be part of a photo shoot, and I’m not telling you just yet what its for, but you’ll see soon enough. What an amazing day!
