The summer holiday started early for me. One week before the school year ended, my mom and I were on a plane to San Francisco. I was sort of familiar with a few tourist attractions such as the golden gate bridge and pier 39. I even saw an American Girl store! (yes, I love American Girl dolls). But besides that, we went to new places that I fell in love with.
From my last trip, I remember pier 39 as the place with really good funnel cake and fish & chips, ` a green screen magic carpet ride (hi Nico) and a cool bungee jump. Yes, the funnel cake was still amazing but I didn’t see the magic carpet place. What surprised me the most was the bungee jump and how small it was. I must’ve been a lot shorter considering i’ve done backflips a few years back. Anyways, I personally think that this pier is a mandatory place to go to.
Although this wasn’t in San Francisco, we went on a field trip to Capitola beach just for a day. To be honest, I think that the beaches in the Philippines are way better. But I liked how it was different e.g. the water was freezing cold and I actually had to wear a jacket. The area around the beach was interesting too. It was colorful and there are shops all over the place. We even had really good ice cream.
I’m not a big fan of museums, that’s a given. But the exploratorium is an interactive science museum filled with so many interesting things along every corner. There was an illusions wall, shadow box, bronze hand and even a place where you could morph two faces.
Cream is a well-known ice cream sandwich shop. All you have to do is pick an ice cream flavour and choose two cookies. I went safe with just chocolate chip cookies and cookie dough ice cream. My mom on the other hand decided to go for red velvet cookies and cookies & cream ice cream. Hers was better- duhh! 🙂
