To all the people out there who are suffering the giant floods, I pray for you. And I pray for all of us to stay safe, and stay dry. The rain just keeps pouring and I can’t stop thinking of how bad things are around the Philippines. The newsrooms, instagram feeds and twitter posts are all about typhoon Maring and the monsoon rains. It’s so bad that schools were shut down and most offices were closed in Metro Manila. There was really not much I could do today so here’s an outfit post for now.
I am totally aware that this post is about what I wore during the summer on those extremely sunny days, the exact opposite of what is happening right now. However, I still choose to blog about it thinking the sun will soon come out.As soon as I got these shorts from fashion intersection, I immediately put an outfit together that I could bring to Guam. The thing I learned from my mom is that when you go abroad, wearing things only found in your country is a good option. That’s because you don’t have to worry about being caught wearing the same thing as someone else :).
Both the pattern and the pleats on these shorts caught my attention but when I tried it on, I have to admit it looked quite off on me. Now I really know the importance of trying on clothes, you have to see if it looks good on you. To conceal the fact that my hips looked bigger, I layered my outfit with a denim vest.
Here we go again with the layering! That’s the one thing I don’t like about summer: It’s too hot to add a simple jacket or sweater to complete your look. So I was glad I scored a vest days before our trip, but unfortunately it was still burning 90 degrees out there, I was sweating while these pictures were taken!
