You always have to be prepared when you’re a model. I went to Namu Studios to watch and help out in a photo shoot for Viktoria Couture. The photo shoot was going well, except that, they needed to get things done faster. Instead of being a junior stylist or production assistant as I hoped for, I was asked by the designer and owner of Viktoria Couture, Nancy Vitangcol if I could model the figure skating clothes that she made. Even if it was a school night, I couldn’t say no! How could I, I love fashion!
In photo shoots, getting your hair and make up done eats up a lot of your time. While sitting down and getting dolled up, there was nothing else to do but wait. It’s actually a great time to start thinking of your poses.
When that’s done its finally time to get in front of the camera and smile! I didn’t know that I had to wear a ton of skating outfits, and it seemed like it was never going to end, Seriously there were at least 50 skating costumes that needed to be photographed. After around six long hours of striking poses we were finally finished. Photo shoots take such a long time!
To all the aspiring models out there, give it your best, even if you’re tired, don’t show it in front of the camera. Keep those big smiles and always be patient. Be sure to watch out for Viktoria Couture’s catalog.
