I DIDN’T KNOW WHAT ALL THE FUSS WAS ABOUT PROM. But that all changed when everyone was on the prom dress search. My seven-year-old self made an appearance as soon as my mom and I started searching for the hottest Filipino designers to make my dress. Fun fact: I wanted to be a fashion designer. However, that ambition changed after realizing that I couldn’t even draw proper circles and squares. The whole process made me giddy – from design consultation all the way to putting the dress on on prom night. In all honesty, I consider myself as one of those girls who enjoy looking at prom dresses even more than prom.
I turned to Vania Romoff after being referred to her by my moms fashionable friend, Tita Jay Jay. Her elegant and modern style was appropriate for this years prom theme “enchanted”. Vania’s style is distinct. It’s romantic, filled with big bows and delicate patterns. I was very happy with the outcome; Vania was able to pull off creating a white gown without making it look like a bridal one. In addition, I had my hair and makeup done by Aiky Nar to feel even more dolled up for prom night. I had no vision at all but once I told Aiky what my dress looked like, he worked his magic and the results were fantastic.

He doesn’t read my blog but thanks for asking me, Sam. Funny story – my cousin Veeno didn’t want him to ask me at first. However, we made a deal and I allowed him to bring my best friend, Alyzza. Prom dates can be so stressful sometimes, but I guess it’s all part of the experience. I have two more to go, and I’d like to thank everyone who made prom night so special. Who knows what my next dress may be. I can’t wait till prom season next year…
