A six-hour plane ride took us to the east coast and that was going to be our home for the next month. We haven’t been in ages! Just to give a quick overview, our family went to New Jersey, Philadelphia, Washington D.C., Boston and of course, New York. Philadelphia was on our list for only one reason. That was to go to the two best authentic cheesesteak places: Pats and Geno’s. You’ll always prefer one over the other. And what’s funny is that they’re right across each other.
I never had a cheesesteak before so I didn’t know what to expect. When I tried a Pat’s cheesesteak, it immediately reminded me of filipino beefsteak . There’s just lots of flavor in one bite. Geno’s on the other hand has a more plain taste. Not bland, but plain. You really taste the cheese too. It’s really a matter of what your preference is but both are amazing. If you like busy flavors, you’ll go for Pat’s. If not, then Geno’s is your best bet. Personally, I like Pat’s more. But two of my friends from Philadelphia prefer Geno’s. When it comes to fries, Geno’s wins!
Being a foodie is pretty exciting. By the end of our Philly cheesesteak adventure, we were all bloated. That’s the only downside if you become a foodie- you eat way more than you’re supposed to. If you ever come to Philadelphia, you should definitely try these cheesesteaks yourself. Who’s side are you on?
