Taking a break from the exotic stories about Bangkok, back here in Manila, it was a privilege to be attending Philippine Fashion Week yet again. Tita Patty invited Emee and I to watch the SM Shoes and Bags Fashion show and the cocktail party for the new face of SM Men’s Wear, David Gandy. By the way you can read Emee’s post about these two major events here. Even though it was a school night, I wouldn’t miss it for the world. And running back and forth wasn’t as bad because I wore platforms instead of heels! Smart move I must say, and lucky for me Emee’s heels weren’t sky-high too! So I didn’t look ridiculously smaller than her in pictures.
First off we went to the cocktail party and ate. What else could we do? At least I didn’t look like a pig when getting food, Emee was there with me getting just as much. You can’t resist Bizu Pasta and macaroons! Unfortunately we weren’t able to see David Gandy personally but Tita Patty was! I would like to thank Ed Fuentes for inviting us to the cocktail party. I’m surprised he remembered me from the JAG fashion show with Nina Garcia!
Afterwards we rushed down the escalators whizzing to our seats. Based on the adverts shown countlessly on the screens, the bags and shoes looked like they were high-quality and very posh! The brands included were: Milanos Shoes, Salvatore Mann and Parisian Shoes and Bags. The brand ambassadors were KC conception and Luis Manzano. They were both very confident when walking and looked comfortable in their shoes.
Warning, this brand is more for the Preppy guys haha 🙂 Not only you can tell from their clothes but even from the outfits they wore. It something different and playful when it came to paring their outfits with shoes. On that note, their shoes consisted of oxfords, loafers and even mountain boots! They were all so colorful, especially the oxfords and I wouldn’t mind going to get some for myself! Who said we can’t wear men’s shoes right?
Salvatore Mann Shoes and Bags
Salvatore Mann focuses on more structure and simple shoes compared to Milanos. It’s the brand you would go to find a nice pair of shoes for a formal event. I know that people like my dad, cousins and brothers would gravitate towards this one more (besides Nike of course!) rather than Milanos because it’s simple. They like laying low on what they wear :). But I’m not saying Milanos is a bad brand, it’s amazing!
Parisian Shoes and Bags
Last but not least! Parisian is great for all women because there is a wide range of shoes and bags to choose from. There are both simple and funky types of shoes, and casual but also formal. They even have booties! I’m up for trying out these types of shoes myself but you see, my feet do not cope with heels that make you balance on your tiptoes. Hopefully throughout the years I’ll progress into wearing 5 or 6 inch heels but for now, 4 is the highest ill go. Again with the outfits, I admired how they styled the models. The clothes alone were fantastic and the fact that the outfits were somewhat similar made it clear for us that we can style our outfits with many different shoes and bags.
Brand ambassadors Luis Manzano and KC Conception
So that was it! Again I’d like to thank Tita Patty for bringing me to these two major events. SM has done a great job like always pleasing the crowd with their interesting and exciting fashion shows. I wasn’t able to watch the SM Men’s Fashion show but I’m sure it was great, especially having David as their ambassador. A glamorous night! And that’s all I have to say :).
