Photos by Yanna Yang
Believe it or not, my last shoot of 2015 was in my own bedroom with Yanna (@_colormesunshine_) and my good friend Nikki. There’s no sweater weather in Manila but hey, a girl can dream! Also, I really wanted to get these photos up before the new year so that I could start fresh. Before this shoot, I had no idea that my messy, bright pink room could be this photogenic. So if you’ve got Christmas lights at home, you might want to try posing and awkwardly laughing with them.
But back to the topic of New Years Eve. 2015 was probably the most interesting, weird, crazy and eye-opening year of my life. It’s the year I learned a lot about myself (haha am I growing up??) My highlight was definitely last summer when I attended two programs that forced me to go out of hiding. I still consider myself to be extremely shy but at least I won’t freak out in a conversation. However, this year didn’t just teach me how to socialize, or how to find the right group of friends- It also taught me about the value of trust. Once broken, it is extremely hard to regain. And it’s only now that I fully discovered how important family is. Believe me when I say your parents know everything you do. But more importantly, they know what’s best for you. So listen to them! I’m so grateful to have the most amazing parents. I’d also like thank every one who’s shaped my past year. Whether you live in the other side of the world or live just next door; Whether I’ve known you for so many years or I just met you; and even if you’re no longer in my life, thank you for helping me grow as a person. I’d normally have a ton of New Years resolutions but this time, I don’t have any. Life lessons can’t be taught in school because we learn from each other, and I can’t wait to see what 2016 has in store for me. Here’s to new beginnings.
Happy New Year Everyone! I hope you all had a tremendous year, and I wish you all the best for 2016 🙂
