So far, all the pictures on my blog were taken from my iPhone 5. And for Christmas, I really hoped to get a new camera so I can take high quality pictures. After reading camera reviews and asking expert photographers, my mom and I finally went to Infomax in Glorietta hoping to choose the right micro 4/3rds camera for me. There were so many cameras to chose from, the Canon EOS M, Olympus OM-D and the Sony NEX 7 to name a few. All of the cameras had advantages and disadvantages. There were so many things I had to considered that it took me over two hours to finally pick the LUMIX GF5. I was really happy and so thankful my mom and dad bought me this.
The camera came with a power zoom 14-42 lens. It was actually pretty good, except that I was looking for something that wasn’t quite there. Luckily, I got 2 more lens, the first one is good for portraits and is very useful as you can take pictures in low light. Thing is, you cannot zoom in or zoom out. So, I also got the 45-200 lens which is great for long distances. To complete my new toy, I got a tripod so I could take videos and pictures of myself or other people and got a free camera bag from the store.
I’m very happy with my camera and I think this is perfect for someone like me who isn’t quite ready for a SLR camera but wants more than a point and shoot . In time, I’ll be ready for the Sony NEX7 (which is too expensive for me) or an SLR. But for now my Lumix GF5 is perfect.
Looking forward to having much better photos for my blog now that I have a new toy. Advanced Merry Christmas!
