My snapchat story during our trip to Japan was mainly food related. Yes, I was trying to make people jealous HAHA. Personally, I don’t know anyone who doesn’t like Japanese food because it’s just that good. So here are a few places we found around Tokyo.
We actually ate here twice in our whole trip. This should come to no surprise because it is hands down, the best yakitori I’ve ever had in my life. My brothers can agree with me on this. In total, the eight of us devoured 63 sticks of chicken, chicken skin, chicken wings, chicken liver and quail eggs on our first visit. Cravings were definitely satisfied.
MAISON DE DESSERT
At first, we were bummed that they didn’t have any chocolate desserts (they were all sold out). Instead, I opted for the salted caramel soufflé instead, and it was surprisingly delicious considering I’m more of a chocolate person. The cheese soufflé wasn’t so bad either. Shout out to my dad who kept eating my dessert! Thanks father.
I first heard of Sugimoto when I was introduced to their signature spice mix that my family and I would always sprinkle on our steak at home. I had no idea it was a restaurant. They serve steak and sukiyaki. Did you know, the real sukiyaki is dipped in raw egg before eaten? I found that out three years ago when I first went to Japan. Since then, I’ve only been eating sukiyaki the traditional way.
For someone who is a serious chocolate lover, the Cheese Garden definitely made me think twice about my likings. I was never big on cheesecake but my mom ordered samples of four different types, which made me completely change my mind. Each one was different but delicious. I don’t know how to explain it but AHH I want to go back for more. If there’s one place you should check out for desserts in Tokyo, it’s this one.
We had some tempura soba at one of the stalls at the tsukiji market. In that place, anywhere you go, it will be good. Trust me.
Don’t kill me but I actually don’t eat sushi. But we ate here because my parents have been before and said it’s great! Instead, I had a taste of gindara and finished the whole plate of tuna steak. I speak to the meat lovers when I say you should try a fish dish; It’s actually amazing.
Hope I made you hungry. Be sure to check any of these restaurants out if you ever take a trip to Japan 🙂
