Excuse me for this really boring title but what can I say? After all I wore this to an LBD party. My ice skating friend ate Angela Alfonso recently had her 18th birthday party celebrated in Palladium. Adding a twist to the usual, we were all asked to come wearing something black.
The thing about black is that it makes you look old. It’s tricky to find something where you look your age even if you’re wearing a mature colour. Lucky for me, I turned to my favorite designer for cocktail dresses so far, Ivarluski Aseron. 2 of his dresses he made for me appeared on my blog: my thirteenth birthday and last year’s preview ball. Ivar’s designs are simple yet edgy and thats what I love about it. This time, instead of the usual body hugging dress, Ivar made me something youthful- a cropped top and an A-line skirt.
Turning around, here’s the part where we know this whole outfit is made by Ivar- a sheer back. He does this for a lot of his pieces and they always seem to amaze me.
I’d like to share one more thing about this outfit. From always appearing on my blog, I think you’ll already know my auntie Ysabela by now. That night, we both wore something that reminded us of Ysabela’s sister. I wore a ring that says love which her sister, Viana said I could borrow. And Ysabela wore a dress made by tata Viana. The dress Ysabela had on is simple yet slimming which is what she wanted. To tata Viana, thank you for the ring and dress! We love it 🙂
From the outfits I saw that night, I figured that black dresses can both be a staple piece and not. Because you have limitless choices when designing an LBD making them as extravagant or as simple as you want. I wonder what black dress i’ll run into next.
