Skiing day one, done! Unfortunately, I couldn’t blog yesterday because I spent my night finalizing uni applications! Two more applications to go 🙂 Anyway, I spent my morning sleeping, afternoon skiing, and evening ice skating. I don’t think i’ll ever adjust to the cold weather, but hey, we had so much fun today!
While on the chair lift, I asked our ski instructor “is it always this gloomy?” (The sky was grey; I had to ask) What followed was a long pause and a very long reply. He said that it’s all based on perspective, and that skiers would actually consider it as perfect whether conditions. I felt my face, although covered with snow gear, immediately turn red. Coming from the Philippines, I guess it’s a given that our standards of sunny skies are much higher than that of Whistler regulars. Nonetheless, I learned a lot today! And I can’t wait for day two. Here’s to more freezing adventures with the family 🙂
