Three years ago I blogged about my summer holiday in Europe with my trusty Lumix camera. (I still cringe at the photos and my writing style). Soon after, I graduated from automatic settings and switched to manual. I am now one of those tourist who carries a chunky DLSR camera everywhere I go; It’s hassle but it’s worth it. We went to London this spring break for a slightly different reason than just going on holiday – we went for university tours! *que anxiety* I don’t know where I’ll be studying but I guess the UK is an option. My parents said they’re okay with…

MOTHER KNOWS BEST. I'd like to thank my mom for forcing me to join summer programs for the past two years. Each one had it's value and for some reason, i'd always step out of a campus a little wiser than I was before. The real question was "why study during your summer holiday?" After my first program was over last year, I was grateful for having been put into a summer course. "This is not summer camp" said the director at our orientation. Indeed it wasn't. Exactly like high school, we stressed out over homework and even had some sleepless nights - but the…

WE ARE NO STRANGERS TO COMMUNITY SERVICE. Every year our school partners up with organizations to help out the society in one way or another, be it teaching orphans or building homes. Giving back to the community is fulfilling, and it was even more so when we visited the Jorge B Vargas elementary school for a family affair rather than a school requirement. Surprise, my family falls under the Vargas family tree and for the whole morning we painted classrooms and desks. Apart from my family, a few of my brothers' friends helped out too. In a project as big as this…

For a few months i’ve been working with Val Villar to work on Absolutely Savvy’s new blog design. Let's state the obvious: I went the minimalist route. Why? Dare I say that i'm a bit more mature now as opposed to when I first started. The simplicity of a black, white and pink theme is very intimidating. However, starting last summer I developed a growing and unexpected passion for photography. In addition to that, I did some research and discovered the art of the “digitorial”. For those of who you may not know, it is exactly like an editorial you’d see in a magazine…

I deliberately decided to make this a late post because everyone knows that senti hour is fast approaching, or maybe it deviously crawled into your mind already. That's why I'm here. Some of you may be upset that you're single and have been your entire life, aching for that special someone to come sooner. Some of you are probably hugot because your supposed date with flowers and chocolate is no longer possible. Some of you might not even care. Or some of you might be like Cess and I: loving valentines day because it's a time to embrace the people around you. How did I spend my valentines? Last night, I had an amazing…

SCHOOL STARTS IN 2 DAYS AND I'M FREAKING OUT FOR OUR MOCK EXAMINATIONS. Seriously, i've been studying all day but i'm beginning to lose focus and motivation. School is so stressful sometimes but I shouldn't panic because (1) The people in senior year have it far worse and (2) 2016 has just started! I'm taking a break from staring at my physics textbook and decided to calm myself down by writing on Absolutely Savvy. In a way, blogging has become therapy for me. To my fellow batch mates, good luck with revision! I'll see you all bright and early on monday morning for our first exam. That is…
