FOR SOME ODD REASON I had the opportunity to glam up in gowns - twice for Miss Universe, and once for the La Salle prom. I got a lot of "who made your dress?" questions after posting all three of these on my Instagram. Here's a bit more on the designing process: Viktoria Couture and Designs  The lady behind this boutique is my tita (auntie), Nancy Vitangcol. She's been making my ice skating costumes for as long as I can remember. The process was really simple: I gave her the colors, then she came up with the design. Chris Diaz My…

After x years the fashion industry has called me to walk on the runway once again. The To Be You Streetstyle book by Inquirer showcases a plethora of fashion-forward filipinos who have been spotted by photographer, Ronan Capili. He has been accumulating photos from 2009 to 2015 and all of his hard work has been put into one book.  In it, are several chapters which each have a different trend. Similarly, the fashion show in To Be You book launch's fashion show was split into trends too. My good friend Ash and I decided to be part of Denim, and choosing an outfit was way harder than it seemed.…

Tali is the perfect place to go if you want to be alone. It's isolated all you can do is visit beaches and cliffs. My family spent two days there along with Alexa's (my classmate's) family, and we pretty much did nothing. I spent my time bonding with my brothers, doing PSAT practice tests with Alexa, and taking photos with Audrey (Alexa's sister). This isn't much of a travel post, but these set of photos were taken for fun while I was teaching Audrey how to use my camera. Alexa became our assistant, my brothers played frisbee and boom... photos! Tali is different from other filipino beaches - it's rocky…

EVER SINCE MY THIRTEENTH BIRTHDAY, my go-to designer has always been Ivarluski "Ivar" Aseron.  It's been three years since my mom and I discovered him. Whenever an event comes up, we still find ourselves sitting in his office for a dress consultation. Apart from my thirteenth, Ivar made me a few more cocktail dresses, blouses and even matching (but not cheesy) christmas outfits for my family. Ivar's signature style is edgy; he uses simple colors but comes up with interesting cuts, and that is why his work is always so eye catching. This particular dress was worn at my…

THE 7-YEAR-OLD-FASHIONISTA ME NEVER WOULD'VE ACCEPTED A T-SHIRT AND SHORTS ON A DAY OUT. Don't get me wrong; I still made an effort to dress well but lazy days kept appearing more often than it should have. However, a visit to the Met reinforced my passion for dressing up. Complete with dresses from top designers such as Karl Lagerfeld and Christian Dior, as well as unthinkable materials like plastic straws and crepe paper, manus x machina was definitely an exhibit worth visiting. Fascinated by the endless possibilities of couture fashion, we took about an hour just to get through everything. They had it all. And I wasn't kidding when I said I…

STYLE POST TITLES SO ARE DIFFICULT TO COME UP WITH. Cess (who, by the way has a new blog url and design cesstan.com) is way more creative than me when it comes to writing about these things. See what she has to say about how our outfits resemble hot & cold here. On the other hand I chose to name this one structured because the black framed window and white wall satisfied my OC- ness. I mean come on, who doesn't love straight lines? Structure is great. It's why I chose to study english literature instead of language, why I take so long to come…
