I finally put my photography skills to the test when my best friend, Allyzza asked me to take pictures for her school project: the Caribbean Special. It is a custom made, cuban-inspired sandwich, which will be sold from February 9 to 12 at the ICA entrepreneurial fair (I may or may not be advertising hehe). Immediately, Allyzza and I both came up with the idea of a picnic. As they say, “great minds think alike” ;). From that point onwards we went to the drawing board, gathering countless pegs on Pinterest, finding a nice location, thinking of what props to use and even telling what our models to wear. By the way, if you don’t know these ladies already, say hi to Alexa Sy, Ash Ortega, Emee Dy and Zoey Dimaculangan. They were flawless despite the scorching heat.
This rewarding experience was one I never saw coming. I was able to learn a bit more about myself: I love shooting behind the camera as much as posing in front, and I wouldn’t mind doing something like this again. There’s still a lot to learn as I’m new in the game, with knowledge of only the most basic of manual settings. But if you need photos, feel free to contact me! I’m all about collaborations now, as either a model or photographer. It’s time to try something new 🙂
