I discovered beauty boxes through my tita’s. I would always see them post photos on instagram saying whether they liked it that month or not. Because of them, I decided to subscribe to three beauty boxes and try them out myself. These are: the Salad Box, Glamour box and BDJ box
I had no idea what they were, until I got them. If you’ve been a subscriber of any of these boxes you’ll know that these contain beauty products mostly in sample sizes. To be honest, I really didn’t like any of the 3 boxes. This is not because they didn’t provide wonderful beauty products because they did. It’s mainly because these beauty boxes were intended for older girls. Young adults and adults will definitely enjoy these tiny surprises. Nevertheless, I was still able to pick our a few items that I enjoyed.
The Glamour Box
From the May 2013 glamour box I was able to find two products that i could use. They are the bare naturals vitamin stix and teen derm gel. Also, it came with a complimentary nail art card from posh nails and a free planaforma trial class card. I know I can use these cards since I always go to posh nails and I recently started some classes at planaforma.
The Salad Box
The salad box of May partnered with the brand Missha and I’ll probably be found using the mini gloss. Other than that, I can leave them for my mom or tita’s to use. For now I don’t use face masks or face creams.
The BDJ Box
BDJ stands for Belle de Jour and it’s certainly a favorite of my tita’s. The latest box I got is the one I can most relate to because the loreal hair products are definitely something I can use.
I will be getting 3 to 5 more boxes since I subscribed to 3 months and 6 months deliveries I’m sure I will find a few more beauty products for me when they arrive. Beauty boxes are great but its easy to realize that they aren’t for people my age. I should wait for a few more years. But I do recommend this to all you moms who are into beauty and make-up! Its a good option for people who want to try out beauty products at a low cost. For now, don’t get it for your tween or teenage daughter, stick to buying them clothes :).
